Hot Off The Success of 2023, It’s Time to Level Up!

I’m thrilled with what we’ve accomplished this year — and it’s only going to get better in 2024.

What a year! As I look back on the past 12 months, I’m so impressed with what our team has done, internally and for our clients.

We really cultivated the groundwork we had laid in 2022 and positioned Snow Collective to reach even greater heights in the coming year. Here’s a look back at the highlights and a sneak peek of what’s ahead.

2023: the year of Cultivation

Before I tell you about the amazing things we did this year, I need to quickly rewind to 2022, when we began laying the groundwork to grow and transform Snow Collective.

As we continued creating compelling strategies and content for our clients throughout the year, we also dedicated time to looking inward. With a focus on Construction, we worked hard to build the Snow Collective ‘engine’ by streamlining and automating our processes, creating training materials to ensure everyone is on the same page, and expanding our team to bring together the best and brightest talent for our clients.

With our engine built and a talented group of creatives driving us forward by the end of 2022, we headed into 2023 focused on Cultivation. We took the tools and streamlined processes we had created for Snow Collective and extended them to our clients. This made it easier for clients to share information with us and helped us work more efficiently.

Not only did this approach help solidify our own business, it created opportunities for our partners — Luminate Communications, Blue Elephant Productions and others — which contributed to their own impressive business growth this year.

None of this would have been possible without the core Snow Collective team. Everyone really stepped into their roles, shining brightly and showing up for each other and our clients. I’m thrilled we’re all heading into 2024 together.

Thank you to our incredible clients.

It’s a true pleasure to support businesses run by leaders who are every bit as smart and savvy as they are genuinely lovely human beings. We did a lot of great work with our clients this year — more than I could possibly share here — but I do want to share a few high notes.

In 2022 and early 2023, we worked with United Services Group to complete a full rebranding of the 45-year-old company. Since introducing the rebrand in February, I’ve had the pleasure of flying across Canada to implement the change management with United’s teams this year. What a fulfilling way to cap off this big project!

We also do a lot of work with innovative tech startups. This year, we helped a healthcare technology client launch the first ever printable temporary tattoo that provides real-time recovery monitoring following knee surgery. Inkwell Health’s tattoo automatically sends data on swelling, temperature and range of motion to an app, which patients, surgeons and physiotherapists can then use to guide care and recovery. How cool is that?

Last, but certainly not least, I want to share a special pro bono project that’s near and dear to my heart. GIOGRAFIK and I teamed up to create a website for AkeeLah Blu, an amazing transgender woman and drag queen who was featured on HBO’s “We’re Here”. The e-commerce site gives AkeeLah a place to share her story and sell her limited edition t-shirt, providing a source of income to help her move out of homelessness.

This year, we were thrilled to celebrate AkeeLah when her episode won an Emmy!

As 2024 kicks off, it’s time to level up

We have the engine, we have the team, and now it’s time to drive Snow Collective forward in a big way.

In the coming year, I’ll continue working with the Kitchener-Waterloo tech incubator Communitech, supporting startups with free mentoring. As a Pro Squad member, I’m the marketing expert for Communitech companies, and it’s really awesome to be on the ground floor, helping these innovative businesses take off.

You’ll also see Snow Collective at the Toronto Region Board of Trade again in 2024. Throughout 2023, we were invited to speak at workshops for their Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) and Executive Certification Program, and I’m delighted that will be continuing.

New in 2024, Snow Collective will be joining the CEO Global Network giving our team opportunities to learn from seasoned, scaled industry experts. As we build our peer group of advisors, not only will it help Snow level up, the knowledge and insights we gain will benefit our clients, too.

We’re also excited to grow our team in 2024, starting with bringing on more designers. And we’ll be looking to make new connections in the agency community and with freelance strategists, copywriters and social media writers who bring our clients’ work to life.

Most of all, I’m looking forward to doing even more great work with great people.

This past year was full of triumphs and celebrations, but it wasn’t without challenges. The global environment has touched our work and personal lives, and it’s been a reminder that we are all humans first. I’m so thankful to have a team, clients and partners who are genuine, understanding and empathetic — who make sure all of our people are okay on the good days and the not so good days. And I’m very proud that we have cultivated these gracious relationships that see us through the ebbs and flows.

We wish you an amazing, successful year ahead!

As you take time to relax and reflect over the holidays, we hope it brings you a burst of inspiration and energy to carry you into 2024 on a high note. There’s so much momentum already, and in the coming year, we are excited to take our business and yours to the next level.

Wishing you peace, joy and lots of fun this holiday season,

Dan, and the Snow Collective team
